New Mobile Projector Technology
Texas Instruments during the 2007 CTIA Wireless
convention will be demonstrating a prototype of a DLP pico-projector
small enough to fit onyour finger tips. The
latest DLP innovation from the world leader in mobile projection
solutions enables compelling viewing options that expand beyond the
limitations of a physical screen for mobile users of cellular
phones, digital cameras and portable media players.
DLP pico-projectors, either as standalone
projector or as an integrated component in mobile devices, will provide
consumers and business professionals with the flexibility to share
video and graphic content in alarger way. TI
demonstrated the viewing experience advantage of showing mobile phone
content on a pocket projector in January2007. The introduction of the
pico- projector capabilities will provide manufacturers and end-users
even more options on how they can view and share information and
content.
Now
in addition to using TI's world leading OMAP processor technology for
processing video and graphics content, mobile manufacturer scan take
advantage of TI DLP pico-projection technology as a new and enhanced
display option in their devices.
As
the OMAP wireless application platform has helped revolutionize
processing of media content on mobile devices, DLP pico- projection
technology will advance the viewing experience of mobile devices
providing significant improvements in productivity and entertainment
experiences.
Key
benefits of DLP projectors include: smoother images with no
"screendoor" effect; crisp and clear presentation of fast motion video;
vibrantcolors created by its BrilliantColor technology; and proven
reliabilityacross all facets - picture reliability over time (no
fading, yellowing orcolor decay over time as compared to other display
technologies), overall performance and dust-resistance.

Samsung Mobile Phone Patent Calls For Hand-Based Motion Controls
Courtesy: http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/340/C15102/
This gesture recognition stuff is starting to go too far. We've already seen the implementation of motion sensing in the Nintendo Wii, but now Samsung is getting you to wave your hands around with a new cell phone as well. The difference is that you aren't waving the phone around. Instead, the patent makes use of the camera integrated into the handset and then it reads the motions of your hands, translating those gestures into commands. The commands appear to be similar to what you'd do with a computer mouse, including the ability to left and right click. The camera tracks the movement of your hand and then the phone responds accordingly. Bear in mind that this is "just" a patent, so there's no saying whether Samsung will follow through with actually creating a phone that does this. I personally can't see how useful it could be.

Teenagers Turning Their Back on Nokia - Prefer Sony Ericsson and Samsung
The importance of mobile phones in teenagers' lives is increasing rapidly according to the latest survey carried out by social networking website, Habbo. 58,480 teens that took part in the survey say also that Nokia is the number one mobile brand globally.
However, Nokia's dominance at the top of the global chart has been weakened over the last 18 months. In the survey, conducted across 31 countries by Habbo, it is clear that Nokia has lost some favour with teens to Sony Ericsson and Samsung since autumn 2006, when the previous Global Habbo Youth Survey was conducted.
Despite still being the favoured handset in 15 of the 31 countries polled, Nokia loses out to Sony Ericsson in markets such as the UK, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland. In all of these markets Nokia ranked first in 2006. In the UK both Sony Ericsson and Samsung are rated higher than Nokia. This suggests that brand loyalty to Nokia, amongst teens globally, hasn't increased alongside Nokia's market share, which reached 40% in the fourth quarter of 2007.
Compared to the previous 2006 survey, mobile phone usage was the one single area that showed the most significant growth compared to other topics surveyed. The results show for example that teens are now regularly using their mobile handsets as entertainment devices. In the 2006 survey only 38 per cent of teens used their handset to listen to music; now 71 per cent of teenagers are using their mobiles as a portable mp3 player. 80 percent of teens in Singapore, Italy and Austria listened to music in this way, though teens in Japan and Finland listen to music on their mobiles the least.
In addition to talking, text messages are still the most used phone function, with 88 per cent of teens regularly communicating via SMS. But the survey shows that teens are also using entertainment applications much more than they were in 2006. 70 per cent of teens are now using their mobile to take photos and videos, an 11 percentage points increase compared to 2006. 64 per cent now play games on their mobile compared to 51 per cent in 2006. Over a quarter of teens also use their mobile to surf the net, email and send instant messages.
Teens are now using their mobiles to simultaneously access information, communicate and have fun. The teen mobile phone market is competitive and lucrative; but it is clear that by developing phones that deliver an engaging user experience across applications, such as texting, listening to mp3s and playing games, mobile brands can attract a new teen audience to their devices.

LET'S WALK DOWN OUR MEMORY LANE( From School to Software Company)
Gone are the days!!! ..... When The school reopened in June, And we settled in our new desks and benches! When we queued up in book depot, And got our new books and notes! When we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays, yet managed to line up daily for the morning prayers. We learnt writing with slates and pencils, and Progressed To fountain pens and ball pens and then Micro tips! When we began drawing with crayons and evolved to Color pencils and finally sketch pens! When we started calculating first with tables and then with Clarke's tables and advanced to Calculators and computers! When we chased one another in the corridors in Intervals, and returned to the classrooms Drenched in sweat! When we had lunch in classrooms, corridors, Playgrounds, under the trees and even in cycle sheds! When all the colors in the world, Decorated the campus on the Second Saturdays! When a single P.T . period in the week's Time Table, Was awaited more eagerly than the monsoons! When cricket was played with writing pads as bats, And Neckties and socks rolled into balls! When few played "kabadi" and "Kho-Kho" in scorching sun, While others simply played "book cricket" in the Confines of classroom! Of fights but no conspiracies, Of Competitions but seldom jealousy! When we used to watch Live Cricket telecast, In the opposite house in Intervals and Lunch breaks! When few rushed at 3:45 to "Conquer" window seats in our School bus! While few others had "Big Fun", "peppermint", "kulfi", " milk ice !" and "sharbat !" at 4o Clock!
Gone are the days Of Sports Day, and the annual School Day , And the one-month long preparations for them.
Gone are the days Of the stressful Quarterly, Half Yearly and Annual Exams, And the most enjoyed holidays after them!
Gone are the days Of tenth and twelfth standards, when We Spent almost the whole year writing revision tests! We learnt, We enjoyed, We played, We won, We lost, We laughed, We cried, We fought, We thought. With so much fun in them, so many friends, So much experience, all this and more!
Gone are the days When we used to talk for hours with our friends! Now we don't have time to say a `Hi'!
Gone are the days When we played games on the road! Now we Code on the road with laptop!
Gone are the days When we saw stars Shining at Night! Now we see stars when our code doesn't Work!
Gone are the days When we sat to chat with Friends on grounds! Now we chat in chat rooms.....!
Gone are the days Where we studied just to pass! Now we study to save our job!
Gone are the days Where we had no money in our pockets and still fun filled on our hearts!! Now we have the atm as well as credit card but with an empty heart!!
Gone are the days Where we shouted on the road! Now we don't shout even at home
Gone are the days Where we got lectures from all! Now we give lectures to all...
Gone are the days But not the memories, which will be Lingering in our hearts for ever and ever and Ever and ever and ever ....... Gone are the Days.... But still there are lot more Days to come in our Life!! SO NO MATTER HOW BUSY YOU ARE, DONT FORGET THAT A CHILD IN YOU STILL EXISTS & LIVE THE LIFE TO THE FULLEST

At Strand Life Sciences...
It is a great journey for almost one year I worked for Strand Life Sciences, Bangalore, the first company which paved the way to my career life from the student and which gifted me lots of memories to carry. I had a very good experience both personally and professionally with most of my colleagues there through out the time i was there before I resigned from there on June 20th, 2007. Technically, I have learnt few languages which I dont even know or studied before joining Strand. I worked for Sarchitect team. I am very much new to Java and Python languages on which Strand works most part. Still I picked up quickly with the help of my colleagues and teammates. I am really thankful to all my teammates who helped me all through my time at Strand. Strand is a very good place for beginners to learn things.
Thanks to all at Strand who made my days in Strand worthy through the oppurtunities, learning, support and whole-hearted friendship extended to me.
I want to move into my field of Electronics and joined Samsung, Bangalore on July5th,2007 after leaving Strand. I am now into domain of Multimedia Applications for Samsung Mobiles which is a very interesting field I like to work.
I enjoyed so many events in Strand. Few to name are 1) Picnic to a Resort 2) Cycle Trek 3) Cricket Match with PicoPeta 4) Holi 3) Mostly enjoyed and most unforgettable thing : My Birthday
I have got some good friends at Strand. We all used to be more of friends than colleagues in each and every moment of time. But as the whole world is shrinking day by day with IT and Telecom advancements, we are still in touch with each other and will be the same for the rest of life.
Here are some shots of the moments I enjoyed at Strand PICNIC CRICKET

Picnic from Strand ............
It's a very good time we had last
friday(24.11.06) with the picnic organized by our company Strand. We had
been to a resort Radiant_Retreat on Bannerghatta Road
here(bangalore). Its a good time that I got interacted with all the
colleagues of the company with whom i am not in touch. Its not a
feeling for myself, but hope for all the members of the company. We all
started in a bus from the company in the early morning at around 9am.We
reached there by around 10.30am. After getting there, we saw that the
resort is still under some development(i.e.,some constructions are
still going on). But with the resources that it have currently, we
enjoyed to the maximum extent. We started with playing volleyball, and
then followed by cricket, then football etc...Some started with playing
badminton etc...Later we had a very good time with swimming playing
POLO.And then we had a very good lunch. And then, the real enjoyment
started with the events planned by the our cultural committee. We had a
very good funny events, in which i think almost everyone had
participated irrespective of age, etc. After this, we got relaxed with a
cup of coffee and then started our back journey at around 6pm.On the
whole we had a very good time for the whole day.

Happy RakshaBandhan.......................
The Celebration Of RakshaBandhan is
nothing but the celebration of togetherness and love. The importance
given to sibling relationship is highlighted with the clebration of the
festival Raksha Bandhan. This festival finds its siginificance and
essence in the relationship and love shared between a sister and
brother. Its the love, affection and respect that means the celebration
of this festival.
It is on this day brothers and sisters pray for each others well being
and happiness. The meaning of raksha bandhan is "the bond of
protection" which implies that the brother pledge to protect his sister
from harms and troubles and the sister prays for the protection of her
brother from all evil.
This festival falls on the full moon day of sravana masam. It is on
this colorful day sister tie a rakhi thread on brothers wrist and pray
for their love and affection to be lasted for ever.
"HAPPY RAKSHA BANDHAN"
